a hack? really? and we're supposed to believe this because...?

give evidence or I'll just ignore your claims.

I know it's not my internets fault and if my internet is down It would have a flashing on the timer then timeout of maybe 30 sec and usually my net would be back before I get abandoned, but there is no timeout it just abandons suddenly. All the abandoned games get abandoned when I'm winning, after that I lose their names on my games so there would be no way to report.

If you want evidence go ask chess.com

A couple days ago our internet went down in less than a minute. Suddenly. Luckily I wasn't playing at the time, but it I had been I would've had no warning. Unless you can prove such a thing NEVER happens with your internet I cannot believe you. Sorry about that.

clock starts flashing during every game now! what's wrong? My internet connection is fine.

Perhaps you're running one too many applications on your device. Happened to me before 😅

Its ok. I think I can prove it but I'm reluctant to show, I will contact support about it.

That's best.

But the clients never directly connect. All traffic goes from client > server. The server process then sends only the pertinent data to the other client. So your opponents can't cause problems with your connection.

Based on your other comment, if the game is aborted, it was due to a server restart. Or potentially a crash. During a server restart, all ongoing games are aborted and nothing gets written to your archive.

Lichess is actually pretty good lol and the ratings is much higher there.

same disconnecting probs as above . Happens all the time and when I'm winning.

Just to add, I also have a reliable fast connection.

I opened separate topic just yesterday, i am experiencing same problem. Connection works everywhere else, just "lost connection to server" during chess.com game. Refresh magically always loads the live.chess.com again despite 'connection lost', only to say me i lost due to abandoning game. I am already 50-100 rating points down due to this.

On iOS - having dropped connections as well despite having a solid connection on all other apps. Also having an issue where the auto-abandon timer for opponents goes to zero and does not abandon.

This is not unlike the peer-2-peer hacker tools that were around a few years ago.  I believe they are using booters to boot you off.  I am wondering if there is any way of protecting ourselves.

Clients never directly communicate. All traffic is sent to the live server process. The live server only sends the moves, updated clock times, and any chat messages to the other client. Your opponent can't see your connection details and can't impact your connection.

Fact: It is always when the player has the winning position that he/she is disconnected.

I posted in your other topic and only 4 of your 14 losses by abandonment were winning for you.

Fact is that the clients don't ever connect to each other and your opponents can't get your IP information in order to disconnect you.

This happens to me also and it’s always when I’ve caught the opponent in a mating sequence or when they lose a queen or. It’s never happened when I’m losing. It truly feels like the opponent does something. I don’t know how one can hack the program or whatever, but since it’s always the same pattern it can’t be a coincident. Luckily, when this happens it doesn’t affect my rating so maybe the programmers knows what’s happening?

Your opponent can't impact your connection. If it's not rated, then it likely was aborted during a server restart.

Chess.com can't recognize properly what is going on on wifi connection. Just lost game on time, 4 minutes left, clock were ticking, everything worked fine except chess, lost game on time. 2 years ago was the same, nothing didn't change from that time. Sometimes it even doesn't wait at all, straight away it shows that we abandonned game. This is a circus, they always keeps telling us do this or that, clear cache (right...), but the truth is that their servers sucks and interrupt our games due to it's bugs or other things.. ,

The site doesn't manage the device connection.

Some things you can do to minimize potential issues:

The site is also experiencing very high loads. So if you see a Database load message that's something separate.

This site doesn't work properly on wifi, everything else works fine and fast when I see constantly ticking clock fir more than 30 secs. Same thing ruining game over and over again. Not our connection's or device's fault. Tthis site is losing work good only on lan connection, or on wifi you have to be 2m from router with a superstable fiber 600Mb connection, then it can work fine. Screwed up optimalisation. Aggressive interrupting and inproper detecting of connection's issues.

Same problem. I ended my subscription quite a while ago, exactly for this reason.

I’m losing connection during some games nearly every day now. Never had this problem before. I’ve had this problem on other sites but not at Chess com, are others experiencing the same issue??
