Have been experiencing the same problem, though l don't know much about computers l think something is not write. Something is definitely going on which even makes you think twice about chess.com
I play alot and have a high speed cable connection If they can halt connection It makes me wonder what else hacks are doing?
I will cancel my membership over this issue. very serious to me I thought their server was up to date. ???
It only happens when I am winning. Everything else on the internet works fine when it happens. Does anybody else have another website to recommend. I am fuming angry.

I firmly believe this is an issue caused by hackers. the timing is just too coincidental. In one match, i didnt fully disconnect, but it suddenly became almost impossible to make a move. The technology exists, and is commonly used in shooting games. But chess?? cmon, that is the lowest, cheating this way in a game that involves intelligence and sportsmanship

If someone was able to hack the live server, they would be doing something more than trying to win a few games. The clients don't directly connect, so your opponent can't impact your client.

I think it might be difficult to know, for certain, the intent or motive of someone doing something you don't like. If someone has the ability to do what is being discussed, you do NOT know if they could, should, or would do something "more".
I have the same issues as everyone else. The only way I have been able to fix in play is to reload the page completely. It will reload to the game in progress. Also don't reload page again until current reload is complete. If so, game over. I play rapid so not a good fix for shorter games.
There is something odd going on. I only lose connection when I am winning or ahead on time! When I am losing (which is often) the connection never drops. Being cynical, I feel some scumbags know how to hack the server to their advantage. This site has lost all credibility for me now.
I think you correct.I played someone and wiped the floor in the first game.Requested a rematch and I was ahead in that as well.Next think connection dropped and I lost the game. The next game I played connection was fine.
Exactly so:
