Is it possible to use chess.com to analyze a game not played on chess.com?

Several postings suggest that members cannot manually type in moves from a game played OTB and not on chess.com's website, in order to use chess.com's engine to analyze the game.

Is this true?

If not, please post how this is done.

Thanks, IS

The evaluations shown by Stockfish on chessbomb during the present Candidates tournament are often either wildly inflated or just funny (eg a first line evaluated at +1.8 which when followed through led to mate on the 8th move). I have my Houdini running simultaneously during the matches and when Stockfish is showing +1 or more, Houdini'll usually be showing around +0.3, or +1.9/+0.6. I think this could be very misleading if you're using SF at home to analyse, although I've no experience of using it.

You're right about the chess.com analysis computer, it's terrible, not only on openings (although 1... c5? is certainly a classic!)

Thanks to both of you for the ideas.

I will check out Stockfish, Benkku, and let you know what I think.

Anybody with a name like that @para, can call me dude.

Thanks for the comments and ideas.  I'll try out Fritz 11 or Stockfish, and then move on from there. (Since I have to find out what 'Arena 3.5 even is - dude - and how it can help, good of you to mention.)

"Auxiliary device" well spoken, benkku.

I've got a Mac, by the way.. don't know if that information affects any of your comments?

It's not possible to have otb games analyzed by Chess.com servers, but it is something we are looking at adding (hopefully in v3 coming soon, but I'd have to confirm).

OK, Kohai.. no doubt that would be an added enhancement to an already great place to study and play chess.

This is what was wrote to me when I inquired directly to chess.com's help:

Hi there,

Thanks for contacting us. Unfortunately, this is currently not an option on the site as of right now. However, I will forward your message to our content team so that they can review it and perhaps add this feature in the future!

I hope you have a nice day!

I am looking for something like this. Analyse games played OTB with the chess.com algorithm. Is there something out there that does this?
