illegal computer move?

I am playing a level 10 computer and it just move pawn B2 to C3 without attacking anything. I thought pawns could only move straight unless they were attacking.

Playing level 10? Amazing then that you don't know all the rules of chess.

I had the wrong pawn moves posted. computer is black, and moved pawn B7 to C6. The pawn did not attack to move, nor was En passant available to use as none of my pieces were near the pawn that diagonally moved.

The computer performed an en passant without capturing any of my peices, nor were any of them near by.

Freaky!

I can't pull up the game but the computer moved it's C7 to C5 and then performed the illegal en passant and moved it's B7 pawn to C6. it en passanted itself somehow.

Now that you mention it. I've seen something similar reported here previously.
