Gift Membership Didn't Work

Hey Everyone,

I just gifted a friend a diamond membership and he got an email saying that his account was automatically upgraded, but when he looked at his account it still was at gold. Anyone come across this same problem? Is there a delay in receiving the membership upgrade in general or when using paypal? He tried logging off and logging back in, but still no diamond membership. Are we missing something? Any help / insight would be appreciated.

I already sent an email to the higher ups, but have to wait a few days for a response.

Did you gift a one-month membership? If so, and the member already has a lesser premium level, I believe it just credits the account and extends the expiration of the existing membership level.

 

That can be verified by checking the account history.

I gave him a 1 year diamond membership. 

We're going to figure it out and I will come back to you.

It gave me a badge saying it was my first gift, so I did send a gift. I don't know what is happening.

Yeah, if your friend checks the membership information, it may show the gold doesn't expire for a couple of years grin.png

 

In that case, they should be able to upgrade to diamond with no cost.

He may want to keep watch once the year is nearing completion. I have no idea how normal renewal will work.  They may want to downgrade back to Hold, just before the year is up.

A gift you sent to someone? Did you gift the account here or to an email?

That said, you'll likely need to contact Support using the Help option in the menu

I claimed the discord nitro thing from besting the Wumpus bot, but I don’t know how to claim it at all? It doesnt show up in awards or anything.

You should get a ending dialog with a Claim button. You click that and it will take you to the Discord site to finish.
