Chess.com took money from me.

So i called my banking atm to check my balance on my debit card, I realized that i was missing some money, I didn't know how much at the time so I went to my banking app and saw that Chess.com took $106 dollars from my account. This happened on Dec 23rd, I have no clue on why chess.com would take out this much money from my account as there is nothing on this website worth that much at all. Im talking to my bank tomorrow to get this resolved. Idk if this happened to just me or more people but I would recommend checking your bank account linked to the card that you used to become a subscriber.

Yes, you must have already had a subscription or a free trial.

If you forgot to cancel it, just write to [email protected]. They will help you. It may take them a couple of days or maybe even longer but they will help you.

@notmtwain The point of this post wasn't because I wanna cancel my subscription, The point is that Chess.com took $106 dollars outta my bank account for absolutely no reason (I didn't purchase anything on this website apart from a subscription). I only brought up my subscription because that was the only way this website got ahold of my card information.

Subscriptions cost money and are automatically renewing. So, if you purchased a subscription, had a trial, or were up for renewal then your billing method on file would get charged.

Some states have requirements that online purchases require taxes. If the OP is in one of those states and that applies to subscriptions, then that amount would be about right for a taxed amount.

Please see the screenshot below.

Does it make sense now? Those are U.S. prices.

I mean, they "took money from me" too. That's what automatic payments for a subscription means.

If you didn't cancel before renewal you could have requested a refund using the Help option in the menu.
