This problem has affected some members of our team (Team England) also.
It appears to be transient, but very inconveniencing. It would be a terrible injustice if some players were to be caused to time out because of this bug.
can't move pieces
For how many days have the members been unable to move? ie. when should I find another online chess site to play on?
I _thought_ I had this problem (perhaps I do) but turning on 'show last move' or whatever it is in my online chess settings and getting the yellow boxes around squares "fixed" it.
I do wish chess.com would back out last Friday's changes; those changes don't seem ready for prime time.
lbf4444, you will not be allowed to move until your opponent has accepted the game. As long as it hasn't been accepted and you are able to see the "view, edit, delete" options, you will not be able to make a move.
Twice this week, and just now, halfway through a 10 min game, I couldn't respond and make my next move. Having to resign lowers my ratings.

I've found that it works when you first click the piece you want to move, then the destination. Rather than clicking and dragging.
Multiple times lately I've been unable to make perfectly legal moves. My only options are to either time out, resign, or make a less sound move. This same bug happened to one of my opponents. In the chat box he accused me of, somehow, creating the move blockage he was experiencing on his end. I'm not that clever.
I hope someone at chess.com does away with this bug/flaw as it has cost me dozens of rating points and several games.
I'm trying to start an online game with a friend. I'm able to create the game, but then can't select any of the pieces to move.
From the 'Online Chess' screen, I'm selecting 'View' for my game. When the table is drawn, the pieces cannot be moved. I've tried Firefox, Chrome, Safari and the iPhone app. None of them work. I've also turned off extensions. Any ideas? I feel like I'm missing something obvious.
