You want Play vs Computer and set both players to human.
2 players playing locally on one device using chess.com app
On the app where you start a new vs Computer game, there are icons. One is a computer, that is the computer player, and one is a person silhouette. Tap both the white and black icons until they are the latter.
While playing this way, In every move I need to rotate my mobile as the screen gets rotate as soon as one player makes a move. Is there any way where my opponent sits on other side of me as in real chess tournament and we make move over the mobile/Tab without screen been rotated and both are able to see their pieces in correct position / alignment
Thank you in advance
You can turn off rotation, at least on Android in the game menu under No Flip, but the pieces will be oriented in a single direction.
I did not see no flip under settings》games. Also since this is the number one chess game app , i hope there should be some way to keep the piece orientation in different direction that is easy for both users
Are you on iOS?
Also, the app is designed to play chess with other people over the internet. Playing another person on the same device works as described but isn't really a primary use case.
I am using andriod. Yes you are right the primary task is to play online but i think since this is number 1 chess application, this should also have this feature. Anyways thanks
What version is your app? I just checked on the newest version and after you hit Start the game menu (the leftmost menu on the bottom-right that looks like a list) has the following options:
- New Game
- No Flip
- Options
Yes i have those options but i wanted the piece to be aligned in such a way that they are in same position to be viewed from their end
I have also pa5ha’ problem, I guess the best solution was maybe to achieve the top view pieces on the board, or like a 3D board... thank you...
This is driving me crazy. My son and I played chess against each other locally on one iPad using the chess.com app just a few days ago, but now I cannot figure out how to do it. "Live chess" options want to play against other players over the Internet, and I don't see any other way to do it. Oh, and we were on an airplane with no internet access at the time, so there is no chance that we were somehow playing on the website. Thanks!
