WHY DOES NO ONE PLAY e5???

Sort:
chesswhizz9

Bro I swear if no one plays e5 against me, I'm gonna get mad, there was a span of 10 GAMES where all I got was B6 G5 NF6 C6 C5 OR E6, don't get me started with that excuse of an opening the "caro-cann" more like the caro-cant play. Just play the easiest move e5! It's very simple guys. I'M TIRED OF GOING OUT OF BOOK AND HAVING TO EARN MY WINS WHY CAN'T YOU JUST PLAY LIKE THIS??:

Please guys this is a joke btw Chess.com don't mute me .

First and easy answer

40% of people play e5 an honestly I doubt get it going e5 is like saying
You have 123 possible ways of playing with each having 609 traps an attack but stockfisch says that e5 is good so why not

I am a Caro cann player btw an yes it is the biggest pain going up against even when I play against it (I am a d4 player) it is annoying. But when you play e4 than there is more than 1 response that’s why I play d4 and never e5.

Even tho I get the higher you go the more variant you have to learn.

Just read that it was a joke lol πŸ˜‚

when i face e5, the game ends in 20-35 moves with me winning.....ALWAYS.... for now

No it doesn't! I just won my first round at the North Carolina Open playing 1...e5, so here I flick my hand at you from under the neck!

And even though he allowed a fork, he was in zugzwang either way.

I prefer c5 or c6 but e5 is an alternative

e5 is very bad.I used to play it when I was 200 elo then I started playing d6 when I was 350 elo and I started playing Nf6 or d6 when I was 720 elo

I asked master advice for a opening I could try and got a really good suggestion:

This was the email I recieved...

"Hi chesswhizz9! Thanks for using Master Advice! I appreciate your patience as we've received a high volume of requests.

Openings, as GM Aronian once said, are like a shoe - they must fit for you! This means you have to decide what feels like "home" to you. You mentioned not liking the Caro Kann or Sicilian, so I'm not sure if you'd feel great about my favorite opening, the French Defense. :)
Β
The good news if you mentioned you play 1. e4 e5 as Black. I think this is an excellent way to improve. Not only is 1. e4 e5 fully sound, it is also an opening you can grow into throughout your chess career. One course I'd suggest checking out is IM Andras Toth's "The Club Player's Black Repertoire"
Β
He does a great job showing the dynamic potential behind 1...e5, and I think it's a really fun course to study.
Β
We also created a series that introduces the most popular (as well as uncommon) opening choices. You could play through some of these examples and see if any of the openings speak to you more than what you are playing now.

Thanks for reaching out. I wish you the best of luck on your opening repertoire journey!"

bros got no opening knowledge

It leads to boring play. Brings to mind an old comment on main line Ruy Lopez by Seigbert Tarrasch... "One might say that both players stand badly"
