Why do I keep seeing this "puzzle" everywhere?

Take a look.

Are you having trouble finding the checkmate in 2 for white? That's because there isn't one. Don't believe me? Put it into "Learn --> Setup Position" and it will tell you just the same.

Despite this, I see it posted a lot on other social media websites, with people posting all sorts of different "solutions" that don't work and not realizing why they don't.

I know this is kinda pointless to talk about, but I needed to vent about this. I'm tired of seeing this solution-less "puzzle" everywhere.

This one was really tough I used analysis by using setup position and yes it's mate in 2 no matter what . White plays Qe6 , now black has only three possible moves i.e 1). Kb2 after which Qa2 is mate. 2). Pawn b3 after which Qe2 is mate. 3). Kd3 ( this one was surprising ) so now the whites king is at its place i.e e1 and the took is at its place i.e a1 so as per the condition to mate in 2 we considered that the king and took didn't move so after blacks Kd3 we play castle which is mate

insane

It is mate. 1. Qe6, and Black only has 3 legal moves. if 1. b3, 2.Qe2#. If 1. Kd3, 2. O-O-O#. If 1.Kb2, then 2.Qxa2 puts the nail in the coffin.

Update: Apparently you're supposed to assume that you can castle. Guess I'm the idiot after all.

I'm gonna go die in a hole now
