No human can beat Stockfish. Only a computer can beat Stockfish.

anyone can beat the chesscom stockfish by closing the position and timing it out. it's not really an achievement.

yeah, before chess.com fixed it, I just timed stockfish out

There is one instructor from the Saint Louis Chess Club who did it.

I thought stockfish could move super fast in time limit, with calculation, like an iphone can.

It can but you need to configure it properly and there is an inevitable delay when playing online.

Engines have been better than humans since the 90s I’m afraid. The highest rated player, Magnus Carlsen, peaked at 2880ish. Stockfish (not browser based) has a rating of over 3600. It’s not even close any more.

Oh, wow. STOCKFISH! The almighty, invincible chess engine that probably dreams in algebraic notation and wakes up already three moves ahead of the universe! Who could possibly beat STOCKFISH? Maybe Magnus Carlsen after a sip of his morning coffee? Or Hikaru Nakamura when he's half-distracted by chat spam? Oh wait, DeepMind’s AlphaZero already did that, but hey, why let facts ruin the drama?

Let’s not forget the real contenders: your Wi-Fi connection during an online game, or that one time Stockfish forgot to castle because someone programmed it on an Etch-A-Sketch. STOCKFISH may be the king of 64 squares, but the real question is, can it beat human stubbornness when someone refuses to resign a clearly lost game? Didn’t think so.

So yeah, who can beat STOCKFISH? Probably no one… except anyone who dares to unplug the computer. But sure, let’s all keep worshiping our silicon overlord.
