Whats with anime and chess?

Chess.com has recently had a wave of young people join. A lot of young people are into chess. Most of these young people are more nerdy due to chess being seen as a nerdy game. Anime is also seen as nerdy. So, a lot of new chess players have anime pfp and talk about anime.
