I need, want performance enhancement. I have been successful with pills in the past. I took wellbutrin to stop smoking and I stopped cold turkey. Now im looking for something to enhance me so I can perform better and sharper. Any one know of something that works?

GlutesChess

Caffeine. Adderall. Funnily enough, wellbutrin.

Charlie101

I no longer feel caffeine. It happened like 5 years ago where I stopped feeling the rushes of coffee and diet coke. Adderall might work. I have had 2 people tell me modafinil.

My friend was talking all about it to me and a student today suggested it. I think it might be stronger than what I am looking for.

Kyobir

Omega 3 (good for the brain)

Charlie101

i believe in the omega 3 I eat salmon more often than not. I am also big on a high fat diet. so much so that i eat a lot of fat and I dont have cholesterol or trygliceride problems

Best is to only take advice for this sort of thing from a pathologist or a dietician.

I listed these items because years ago i had a chess student that was on adhd meds, couldnt concentrate, poor grades, couldnt sit still, and he hated it, his mom hated it. I got her mom to try a different doctor that was open to a natural cure. He was put on the items I listed and a really good probiotic. He cut out sugar, processed foods, frozen foods, junk foods, soda, and candy. In 6 months he was off his meds, and now attends Columbia Univeristy.

where do you buy your vitamins, or which vitamins should i be looking for because i think most vitamins are more plastic than something good for you healing or nutritious. I will try everything but if you can tell me where to get them that would be great.

You just look for good quality high grade supplements. All natural with little to no fillers.

Studies continue to show that diseases like ADHD and other attention , hyperactive, and other disorders like that are associated with poor diet. Fast food, junk food, soda, sugar, processed food, preservatives, and such. Its brain inflammation. And its not due to a "Ritalin" deficiency. Its due to lack of a healthy diet, and exercise.

thats very interesting. Yea I am a diabetic and I think I have metabolic syndrome. I take medications for certain conditions. However my diabetes is "almost" excellently controlled. My a1c's are always in range.

That medlabpro medication seemed to be excellent and I am considering it.

I'm sorry youre dealing with diabetes. 6 years ago this month I started doing keto. My doctor wanted me on 6 different prescriptions, and i weighed 325 lbs. I wanted no part of being on that much medication so I started reading and educating myself. Now 6 years later I'm down to 220 lbs. and have no need for any prescription medication. I controlled it all through diet, exercise, and healthy eating habits. No sugar, no junk food, no soda, no processed foods, no frozen foods except for frozen berries veggies for smoothies, no unhealthy fats and carbs. There are studies that show a ketogenic diet can lessen your diabetes medication(s) and even reverse it. I have 2 friends that deal/dealt with diabetes. One changed doctors, started a ketogenic way of eating and in 6 months he was off all of his diabetes meds. The other guy? To this day he makes fun of it, keeps telling me his diabetes doctor says it dangerous, and not sustainable. He continues to believe everything his doctor tells him. What has it gotten him? He is up to 2 shots on insulin a day, has neuropathy in his feet, glaucoma, high blood pressure, out of breath after walking half a block, mood swings, cholesterol meds. And with all that he continues to mock my keto ways even though he was seen what it has done for me.

Im not saying its a cure all because its not. But please at least read up on it and i wish you well. If you have any questions please feel free to PM me. Best of luck to you.

I’d be extremely cautious when taking supplements, as more often then not, they are fake, with no studies to show any improvement, and aren’t regulated at all. They can also interact negatively with actual medication or natural body processes.

Vitamins though? Lots, if found and taken naturally. Eating fish can decrease cognitive decline as you age, and helps with building cell membranes. Vitamin B-1, B-2, B-9, B-12, Vitamin C, D, Magnesium, Zinc, and Coenzyme Q10 improve brain and heart health in many ways, so incorporating foods with these into your diet will help lots.

And the most underrated thing, exercise. Exercise is one of the most important things we can do, improving so many aspects in your life when done, from decreasing depression to improving brain health to reducing risk of disease.

If you want to explore prescription pills that can improve brain function in various ways , talk to an expert, you want to be super careful and get them legally.

Your first sentence is somewhat true. I don't get my supplements from the dollar store grin

As for no studies show they make improvements? Not true.

Exercise...exercise...exercise. An old runners saying: "Motion is lotion." Get outside and get some sun for Vitamin D. Drink plenty of filtered water. And stretch! Prescription drugs should always be a last resort. As Hippocrates said: "Let food by thy medicine."

I haven’t seen any double blind studies as of to date with a big enough pool showing improvements, although feel free to share some, I’d be interested in reading through.

Hey Charlie! I wanted to tell you about Mind Lab Pro, it's a really good brain helper! But since you didn't reply, I deleted my message. But if you get it now, you can get a free bottle of super vitamins for men with a buy 4 get 3 bundle deal! It's better than the cheap stuff on Amazon. I already got mine and even got some yummy MCT oil with it!
