I’m confused how that’s a brilliant move when the queen is guarding

brilliant moves require at first like the weirdest move on the planet but dont go finding the weirdest move a hope for brilliant you still have to hold on the move that loooks soooooo weird and see every line and everying every move every every everying then you see some thing weird is hapening in the line then you think some more to confirm then you are ready but these are kinda only able to be done by 2000 players or soo probally lower soooo it is hard to get brilliant moves.

i had seven

We should take chess.coms move scores with a grain of salt, the same way we do when we get double question marks when we make a decent move.

Shawntgray

I've gotten my only two brilliant moves recently. This is one of them. The engine seems to really like queen sacrifices. https://chess.com/live/game/28514972957

Pulpofeira

I got one today, but I wouldn't call it brilliant. Piece sac for two pawns (when I already had just that material advantage myself) to expose the king, although I didn't materialize it the best way later.

no because they never happen

you're wrong. I think yo never saw an "actualy" brilliant and you though:"there it'snt not a thing call brilliant. But i does happened,no one in here is lying(is very hard to have that move but you need to think alot)

Brilliant moves seem to be situational.  I have had several but there is one in particular that I remember where I sacrificed a rook in order to lead up to check mate.  The engine deems them as brilliant because at the time of playing it did not find it, but the outcome of the move has to be better than what the engine deemed to be the best move.  You surprise the computer pretty much.

I think I've had 5 brilliant moves in the year and a half I've been playing and I have lost three of those games, won 1 and drawn 1.

I suck at chess.

Can someone tell what brilliant moves are there for beginners?

That depends. Like people said above, a brilliant move is a best move that's hard to find, so there are many factors to getting one. It's not like an opening, where you have lines.

I've never had a brilliant move before but I have had quite a few best moves (I think that is what they are called; the dark blue ones) and I thought I just wasn't playing super well.

mercatorproject

I have had a few. Some, in fact, were obvious moves. It loves sacs and moves which put a heavy piece en pris when it takes advatage of a pin.

Just commenting to get the achievement, don't mind me tongue

Always nice to get one, but I never can quite figure how it arrives at them.

mercatorproject

I get quite a few "Brilliant" moves. And it puzzles me, because most are pretty obvious.

Briilliant surely has to have a hidden aspect.

Vincidroid

It takes brilliancy.

Woohoo i got one brilliant move recently [Event "gilgamesh26 vs. My_Worst_Nightmare87"] [Site "Chess.com"] [Date "2022-08-28"] [White "gilgamesh26"] [Black "My_Worst_Nightmare87"] [Result "0-1"] [WhiteElo "1584"] [BlackElo "1492"] [TimeControl "lightning"] [Termination "My_Worst_Nightmare87 won by checkmate"] 1. I got one today. Most could have found it if they had studied the simplest form of mate, that along the back row. It was a Queen sac which enable a rook to slide in to deliver a defenceless back row bare King locked in by pawns.

My_Worst_Nightmare87

Woooohooooooo I have got 8-10 brilliant moves in my games so far! I analyze every game and save the games with Brilliant and great moves!

My_Worst_Nightmare87

I have noticed that for every 5 games played, I have great moves in 3 of them, minimum 1 at least, per game. I became better because I play a lot. I have played over 10000 games so far, and my hard work is paying off now!!
