Of course, with time delay in OTB games, even if you could not effect a mate with such an overwhelming material advantage. you could just shuffle your King or any othe piece back and forth very quickly and make use of the 50 move rule to get a draw. Mic drop.
You never know what can happen, you might as well play it out in case your opponent blunders or runs out of time

Honestly, if you can't mate him quickly with 3 pieces and he has none, he should keep playing. If I have 3 pieces and my opponent has none, I promise the game will not last much longer. At that point he is simple hoping I will mess up somehow. It is up to me not to do so.
