The Starbucks in Hyde Park (near Howard & Swann in Tampa) has started to become a popular meeting place for chess.  Busiest times are on Friday & Saturday evenings, about 6-10 pm.

I'm in Tampa, and ready to get a group started for weekly chess meetings.  I used to be a chess tournament director, for rated and unrated tournaments, in case anyone would like to try some quads.

Hi Mr-Horse, I am avaiable and ready to play some live chess.

We had a small but very enjoyable meeting on Sunday afternoon at a bookstore in Tampa.  We plan to continue meeting weekly on Saturday and/or Sunday afternoons.  The exact schedule is still be worked out.  I have extra chess sets, so anyone interested is welcome to stop by even if you don't have a set.  Send me a private message for more details.

Sundays 1-5pm, chess at Barnes and Noble at the Dale Mabry & Kennedy location.  Seating is limited.  Please support the cafe if you enjoy some time there.

We're meeting for chess in Tampa at B&N bookstore (near Kennedy) on Saturday August 22nd, 2-5pm.

Chess players are meeting at Panera in Tampa (on MLK Blvd near Tampa Stadium) every Sunday 2-4:30pm.  Everyone is welcome, but please support our host by enjoying some of their excellent food and coffee.

Looking to play during week in Tampa if anyone interested. 10am to 2pm window most days. 

By the way, our group of chess players that used to meet at Panera now meet at Grassroots Kava House in Ybor.  Most Sundays 2-6pm.  Everyone, including beginners, is welcome to join in.
