Any updates on the Neo?

The Indiegogo site is not encouraging.  November is the estimated shipping date for new backers.  And it gets worse: the software (Victor) may go to a subscription model.  It's a 20% hit if you want a refund but I'm starting to consider it.

Their April update was pretty grim. I'm not sure they will be delivered this year. 

They didn't go out and say it, but they admitted that some of their chips they need have a 20 week lead time, so doing the math they didn't expect to get them until September.  Apparently, Taiwan and the US have built chip facilities, so the chip shorting is expect to end sooner than that, but I feel those chips may go to the auto industry or other big players before Square Off.  India also went back to lockdown due to COVID-19 in April and May 2021, which shut them down.

I am going to keep waiting lol i have the Grand kingdom set already though so i haven't even looked at the email updates or gave it a second thought since i bought it lol (use to waiting from the GKS  early bird deal think that took a few years too but i know they are good for it and it will be awesome/worth it when it arrives)

The problem with cancelling your order is that they will charge you 20% of the cost of your order for various admin charges. I enquired a couple of weeks ago so I have decided to just wait.

The July update is out.  As expected, November is the new projected shipping target.  And the USB-C port is gone, replaced by a standard DC jack; folks don't seem real happy about that in the comments section.  But hey, the boxes that they'll ship them in look real snazzy!

Saw that! I am guessing if they are saying Shipping starts in November 2021 we should expect actual delivery for preorders by March 2022 at the very latest!

I have a feeling that they actually will try very hard to ship for Christmas.  Hoping that the reason this last update was delayed was to make sure their shipping estimate was realistic.  I'm often wrong....

I'm looking for chess program/app with no intelligence.  Just a board, set and the ability to lay out and move freely.  Is there such a program/app?

Yo Jeff; you should really start your own thread rather than hijacking this one, and you'll probably get better answers.  That said  Learn>Analysis>Setup would probably work but I don't know if standard members have access.  Good luck.

So the August update is out.  Projected shipping will be November, December and January.  The Census will shortly be sent where you confirm shipping and have a chance to buy more stuff including carrying cases.  Of course the update said everyone would get the Census by August 14 at the very latest.  Turns out to have been a typo; they really meant August 24...

Give them a break, it's still the 14th... 

True, but in the Kickstarter comments section they admitted it was a typo...

how do you figure out where or the number your in line to receive the neo

Afaik, they will tell you when it gets closer to the ship date. 

Has anyone else had a warranty problem with their Square Off Board? Mine quit working after about a month and I reached out to support. That’s been 5 months ago! They eventually sent me the shipping label to send the board back, which I did 2 months ago. Now all I get when I reach out to support is that they have to check with their logistics team. That has been 3 months.

Orders are scheduled for shipment in November, December and January.  I thought there might be a hint in the survey they sent as to when mine would be shipped, but there wasn't.  Problem with canceling is they hit you with a 20% handling fee; I thought about it, but figured I might as well ride it out and see what happens.  Hope that was helpful...Good luck!
