Hello.

Does anyone have a Square Off Chess Board, or knows someone who does? I was gifted one without a power adapter, and can’t find the voltage/polarity specifications online to purchase a replacement.

Thank you!

best bet would be to email square off support

That's the adapter I received with mine. Hope this helps.

I replaced it with a multi voltage adapter that had a UK plug, worked with no problems

I ordered a Kingdom Set back in December last year. It was supposed to be delivered in February. A long delivery time of more than two months, which I accepted. I also paid everything upfront of course. But until today, I haven't seen nothing yet. I sent them an e-mail. Yeah, they apologize for the delay. Right. Keep this in mind if you consider ordering one.

On April 14, 2021, the Kingdom Set I ordered on December 21, 2020, was delivered. The good news is: everything works perfectly, nothing is broken. I was somewhat worried about the condition because DHL moved the package through five different countries in Europe before it arrived in the Netherlands where I live. My Kingdom travelled from Vilnius, to Tallinn, to Stockholm, to Copenhagen, to Brussels and finally to Rotterdam. The Kingdom Set is packaged in a bag in a box in a bigger box, giving it enough protection. And the robotic arm inside the board has a transport screw, which you need to remove before the first usage.

The SquareOff can be used for:

1. Playing against the machine (which they call A.I.) having a Stockfish 11 engine with a customizable rating between 800 and 3300.

2. Playing against human players on chess.com

3. Playing against human players on lichess.org

4. Playing against human players on a SquareOff server against other SquareOff owners.

And of course for those of us waiting for our long promised second generation Neos and Swaps, the news from Square Off is not reassuring.  Certain key electronic components from China are apparently in short supply and India is in the midst of another pandemic surge.  Oh well, the bars aren't open yet anyway...wink.png

Finally it has arrived! Only took 5 months, haha. I'm looking forward to hearing your experiences. especially regarding playing on Chess.com or Lichess.org. happy.png

The review i read about the last gen stuff was that playing on chess.com was like a 30 minute game for them and a 5 minute game for your since the pieces moved so slowly.

How does it feel to you?

WillScarletMacaw

I find I need to play longer games on Chess.com. The move delay, which the comments exaggerated, makes a difference in 15 minutes or shorter games.

I think that is a little overexaggerated. But you need at least 10 seconds increment. For example, 15 / 10 is a good format for rapid chess using the SquareOff

But I was accused of cheating in my last game, probably because of the slow response from my side. It takes 5 tot 10 seconds for the SquareOff to execute my opponent's move. And there is no such thing as premoving.

If you play on the special SquareOff server, this problem is avoided, because the software stops the clocks during the execution of the move.

15 10 games are fine here with the Squareoff board

I am afraid that Gothamchess has convinced everyone who always takes 5 ~ 10 seconds is absolutely a cheater. Every article mentions that talks about dewa_kipas always mentions it took him 10 seconds a move, even if the move was forced.

It's a problem for square off users.

And the solution of this problem might be to play with your camera activated, which is part of the SquareOff app. However, I haven't tried this option yet.

That is the solution, but it is annoying that you pay $$$ for cool tech, and then have to stream to fend off people who accuse you of cheating.

However, I guarantee if you don't, the accusations of cheating won't stop.

BaronVonChickenpants

Who cares if someone accuses you? Just ignore it.
