Morphy never considered chess as anything more than an interesting hobby, and quit playing competitively because he had his "real" law business to attend to.

Both of them are aggressive players. I'm so happy that we have their games to work through, still. Both aggressive, but Fischer remained obsessive about chess tell his last day, and I believe that would give him the edge over Morphy. Now, if Morphy was allowed a month to become versed in the present state of chess and the progression that has enhanced the game since the Romantic era, then Morphy would have the edge -- at least according to Fischer. Morphy's style of play and state of the game wouldnt really pass muster for just about anyone else. Morphy was an adaptive player, he could have still forced a draw one out of three games. Technically speaking, Fischer would be the stronger player.

Fischer would win

No one was ever obsessed with chess as much as Bobby Fischer. Not Magnus or even Morphy.

Morphy is part of father of modern chess. morphy had more talent than any player, if he is born later and studied with chess books and engines, he couldve even beaten giants such as carlsen and kasparov.

I think Morphy is stronger than any human player including carlsen if he is born in the modern world.

if morphy lived in our time he'd definitely be stronger than a lot of people. considering his day and age though, he's easily worse than bobby

i think with unlimited games b/w morphy or any modern player will be morphy will get defeated in starting games then he will improves then he be able to atleast make some draws .. then after some more games he will be able to win one games here and there then after some more games he will win like 50 percentage of time then after some more games his win percentage games wil increase then if morphy dos not lose interest in playing he will win major percentage of games.

in short he was an adaptive p player a genius much more talent ed player then fischer in his own words if u read what fisher has to say about morphy.

the way he could give different kind of odds in chess and still win shows he games learinng were unique to him not copied from any books computers.

but in the end i will say he was not unbeatable though people say many games he lost to chess to his opponent to give them a boost and cheer them. his thought level in playing was to that level he can lose when he felt that the other person needs win more then him.

he was complete gentlemen.
