Is the title National Master, a valid title?

when the national master is for 2200, and CM is 2200, why is this necessary? btw anyone on my forum, SEND ME A FRIEND REQUEST!

Yes nm is a completely valid title but it is a weird title I think it is reserved for the usa but not 100% sure

FIDE-rated games are somewhat difficult to find in America (or at least they used to be, from what I recall). Sometimes you need to travel thousands of miles just to find a FIDE-rated tournament.

This is partially why the USCF exists - so players can participate in rated tournaments in America without having to travel to Europe just to get a rating ...

Some federations have their own rating systems and titles. The vast majority of US Chess Federation tournaments are not FIDE rated and a 2200 US Chess rating isn't the same as a 2200 FIDE. The latter is usually considered a little stronger.

The most bizarre part is that the OP isn't interested in whether Argentina does or doesn't have a NM title. He seems to be more interested in getting friend requests...

Glad I wasn't 10 years old in the year 2020... would probably be depressed I only had 1200 "friends" when some other kid at my school had 1500 "friends."

yeh NM is a USCF title. It can't only be achieved through the U.S though.
