That still isn't much of a concern...most people--SMART people--don't use their real name online, so even if they know what city you're computing from, you'd still be the proverbial needle in a haystack...
Is your IP address known?
Yes it is known, but as said already "every other" site knows the ip address of people using their site. What is the issue, is something different than every other website?
I used a fake name and someone messaged me saying that they know my name
You entered a name in your profile settings. If that's your name, then that is how they know.
Can i put a fake name
A friend of a friend knew my name and told other kids on chess.com
You don't have to have anything in the name section. Or anything you want. But if you put in real information then it can be seen by everyone.
Also, if anyone in real life knows what your chess.com account is, then you can't really control them telling other people. The only way to prevent that is to remain completely anonymous and don't tell anyone about your account.
yes it is known. How do you think they got the country flag next to your name?
You choose it in settings.
so i'm just scared because somebody said that they know my adderes but im scared so can I like check if they know exactly where i live

If you don't provide details somewhere, then no other member will be able to determine it.
Chess.com staff - just like the staff of every other website - can see what IP address you come from. However, they do not make that information public and not even moderators can see that. Your IP address will usually give your approximate location, generally down to a specific city or town.
