The only explanation I can think of is lag. Even it shows that your opponent has 3seconds left to your 0, your opponents time may have been less than yours, and as their last move was probably a pre ove, they didn't have enough time for the premise to fully complete
his partners opponent ran out.of time 0.001 second before he did.
