Here is your standard games otb record since the ECF rating conversion aggregated by class. Very much in line statistically with the 16xx OTB player you are. you are expected to occasionally get a lucky win against a 2000. You are not ICC Fischer (unless you created that identity...) and did not play Nigel Short, much less beat him.

1997 is not the same as 2024 plus chess com wasn't even around then so in reality you were 2370 on a different website if at all
Which could correlate to 1700 on chess.com also moderntimes are different everyone gets better even faster

I was 2350 on kasparovs site 1997-2000 then went on Internet chess club around 2000 and still had a 2350 rating for a year. On the internet chess club they had power outages in around 2005 which lost all the data from before 2005

On chess.com 2600 is like 2800-2900+ blitz chess... If your seriously "2600" fida strength then you have a serious skill issue

they were 1600 elo english chess rating but many were 1900 fide
