I just beat Wally on my first try using a London opening, not blundering anything and trying to be a bit crafty on how I forced trades.
How did you beat Wally (the bot)?

wow, and I will try london opening also
Wow, that's a good news for me
It came down to a pretty close situation. He had tried to force me to double my pawns through trades, he did force a lot of trades and succeeded at doubling some of my pawns but what happened was, I was still able to keep my pawns protected and prevent anything like his rook moving in to capture them.
Somehow we each managed to use our knights to fork king+rook, capture the other's rook and lose the knight. Like literally we each did that back to back but I managed to fork his rook+king first. In that trade instead of leaving my knight to die to his remaining rook, I moved it out and thus managed to also double his B pawns. I didn't want to trade my last rook for his but I eventually had to.
Then we were down to each having 5 pawns + king. On paper my pawns seemed worse, but all of my pawns were positioned in such a way as to block any of his advancements and also totally block out his king on one side of the board. At one point there was literally nothing he could do but try to defend both sides unsuccessfully with no chance of making progress. My king had slightly more mobility and was able to screw him up just enough to get a pass pawn earlier. I used my promoted queen to eat the rest of his pawns but eventually he forced me to sac the queen to stop his own promoted queen. That was OK since I just advanced my remaining 2 pawns to queens, and won by ladder mate. Wish I had saved the game to show it.

Good game & a nice explanation.
all you have to do it wait for them to blunder and then just use that mistake to your advantage and try to trade as much as possible once you win material. these bots are made in a way to blunder at some point and they might be simple one move blunders. In a recent game he lost a piece because of a central pawn fork, it is really not hard for an 1800 to see a pawn fork incoming, if you are trying to train against bots, please do not do it. when I was 800 I though bots are a good way to train chess without losing rating but they are not. I simply could not improve at all. Play humans! These bots are just to play for fun. Winning against a bot does not mean that you have improved to the bots level.

This is an old post lol.
I was just playing Antonio (1500 bot) like a week ago.
Moved onto Isabel and one day later, started beating Wally. I skipped Isabel basically lul.
I’m rated 1460 in Rapid. 💀
I struggled with Wally for ages, and despite a couple of draws, he would always beat me so easily. Today, I managed to beat him, and in quite a spectacular fashion, with 2 queens at the end. I played as black.
Currently I'm trying to beat Wally. Can I know how you guys beat him?
well i've beaten him as well, honestly he's not that hard to beat. you just have to focus a little bit on his hanging pieces coz, sometimes, he leaves several pawns hanging, and specially if you are an aggressive player, sometimes wally just tends to mess up.
Play game
