Help me! He won't resign
First of all thanks to likesforests for posting the game in this thread....Hepsayer....Atalik.....well I had a good laugh, now that is the sportsmanship that I like. Having looked at the games of the starter of this post there is a double standard so Reb is right in what he said, also no help should be given in this thread? as has been done.
I find it hard to believe how many players will play on in a lost postion, if you want to practice lost postions use a computer, get your help that way, but don't waste a good players time or any players time.
I believe every time a pawn moves the count starts over for the 50 move draw rule.
My comment was not personal to your game! it was just a general point that there are players out there that will not resign, and if you are playing a 7 Day move game, this could take a long time.
If players want to put humour into their game then this is, of course, fine and between themselves and no harm is done!
Of course a player has the right to play on till he/she is mated, but at long time controls this could take some time.
But at the end of the Day it is not the right thing to do!
Strong and good players will resign
thats the problem with having the "win at all cost" mentality. He should have the "learn as much as I can" and "enjoy the game" attitude.
The Department of Chessland Security has listed apb2120 as a "person of interest" in the investigation of the starvation death of the King. There is concern that retaliation may have been a factor in this tragic development. Let us pay our respects with a moment of silence and keep the Queen in our thoughts and prayers.
Seriously though, apb2120, i think people are not flaming you personally... but a person your post reminds us of. you are not good enough (nor am i) to represent the "chess brat" elitist prototype that inspires this hate.
Poor guy! One silly comment on a serious chess website's, serious-forum-section about a silly game between 1 silly and 1 serious player and allllll this serious and silly responses...
No wonder the poor sob put foot in the wind!
Hi do the gentlemanly thing your self and offer him a draw?

How can anybody win (even on time) when he does not have suffucient mating element? It should be declared a draw by the chess.com arbiters.
You are really frustrated about your lack of techniqe in the endgame. He suspects this from your modest rating and is putting you to the test which is fair enough.
Simplify the game still further. q to g4 will force an exchange of bishops and then you have a simple king and queen checkmate which is very basic. If you can't do that, get a book or some lessons.
I tried mate with 2 bishops recently and found it hard. We are all learning.
Keep at it
GM Atalik also has a sense of humor about such things:
That was hilarious! :D
