Hot take: The Petroff is not inherently boring. Certain lines are less interesting than others, but white can easily avoid the boring lines and make a quite sharp game if he wants to.

That's not a Hot Take. It's a known fact.

Ilyumzhinov was FIDE president for 23 years, retiring only recently.
