Bahahaha - just realized that's the Amityville Horror house - very funny lol

Took you guys long enough.

That's one club I wouldn't join. You probably play on a Ouija board and the pieces move by themselves.

FrankieBonezz

LMAO! Indeed - When I was in high school we used to smoke joints and drive by hoping to see ghosts in the windows lol

Hi everyone, I'm in Stony Brook and looking for a club in Suffolk.  It seems from this thread there may have been some weekend meetings for play in Smithtown(?) area last year and earlier this year.  Understand covid has put a crimp on things but are there any plans to fire up the meeting group here in Suffolk next year when its safe to socialize again?  I'm not a great player but Id be wiling to help organize, to the point of maybe trying to start a USCF club.  Have not seen any posts here since last March, I hope everyone is well and I can provoke some activity on this thread.  - Pete

I'm in Mount Sinai and would love to join a club or just meet people in person for some OTB chess. Are people still interested in this? Is there a better forum to organize on or is this thread the best way for people? Maybe we can start a club on chess.com?

Hey there Siculo!

It's a pleasure to meet a fellow Long Islander!  I'm from Suffolk too (around Smithtown).

The only chess club I am aware of is one that meets in the Smithtown library.  I've never went, but I see their ads on public access cable every now and then.  Other than that, the only chess club on LI that I am aware of meets in Nassau.

Where in Nassau County, the Chess Club?

Chess Club?? We need a place. Any ideas?

If you find a place in Suffolk, do post it please. The closest place I know of is in Nassau County in East Meadow.

What is the address in East Meadow (Nassau County)?

The Great Neck, NY library has resumed the chess group.  Wednesday 12:30 to 4.

Enjoy

Where is the Great Neck, NY library? Is that in Lakeville near Hillside Avenue? Or there is a Great Neck, NY library in Northern Boulevard?
