It's a library. i have a few boards. i have no idea how many people will show up. it will probably start off slow.

We had a nice meetup on Saturday. I grabbed Jake_Gem on the way to the library and once there we met the Go-To person for the meeting DogTrainer4175. Amazingly good on the board and he taught me how to use a chess clock.
A little bit later Feeling-Good and Chess2Knights showed up and put on a dazzling show with their chess skills.
The room used is huge - enough to have at least 10 games going simultaneously.
On a side note: I played 4 games and lost them all, and would do it again in a heartbeat

It's a pleasure to meet a fellow Long Islander! I'm from Suffolk too (around Smithtown).
The only chess club I am aware of is one that meets in the Smithtown library. I've never went, but I see their ads on public access cable every now and then. Other than that, the only chess club on LI that I am aware of meets in Nassau.

Hi all. it's all set for Saturdays. Starting April 6th. 10a.m.- 12 noon.
I have to aim for next week - I forgot I have to get my taxes done today.
On a side note - bring your own board and pieces just in case.
