bullet chess rating 200 point drop in 2 days

Sort:
Axew

Just yesterday I was doing fine against 1400-1500 rated bullet players, then I after a dozen games I dropped to 1300. Now today after another few dozen games I'm back to around 1200 bullet and struggling against 1200s and even 1100s.

How is this possible... how?? Frown

How is this possible, I Axew?

You played more than 100 games yesterday. That may be too much...

It looks like you hadn't played any games in more than a month and all the games you played were 2 1 in the last two days. Back in November, you were playing 1 0 games.

Perhaps you were winning a lot of games back then just because you were able to move fast. Playing 2 1 requires a little more thought and chess playing skill.

Going back further in your archive, your rating was only 1100 on October 8th. You had been playing 2 1 games for a while. You didn't play again until early November and when you did you switched to all 1 0 games and your rating rose to 1394 by 11/27/15, when you stopped playing until the last few days.

You are evidently a lot better at 1 0 games than 2 1 games.

That's easy.  You had two bad days in a row.  But seriously, any new stress in your life?  Chess requires such focus that if you're not able to completely concentrate due to any number of possible life issues, it shows in your games.  Don't worry though; there's always tomorrow! Smile

On 1 min I lose a lot of games due to time...

Everybody does but you evidently managed to win a lot more often than you lost from November 8th through November 27th and they were all 1 0 games. Prior to that, almost all of your games were 2 1 games.

It's too bad you can't look at your archive beyond the last 30 days. It's a really obvious difference if you could see it.

The data for today hasn't yet been graphed so you can't see your rating plunging yet (but if you could graph it tomorrow, it would be obvious).

I predict that if you keep playing 2 1, your bullet rating will continue to fall until it is back to the 1200 area.

Everything goes faster in bullet.

I’m also having the same problem. I was once 1226 and dropped all the way to 1100 once, and I can’t feel the difference between 1200 players and 1100 players. When I do game reviews, it turned out that even some 1100 players played better than 1200 players. When I had rating 1000, I also once beat a 2300. I feel like some ratings on chess.com are not accurate. Look at my stats. It’s a roller coaster.
