control the middle by advancing the queens pawn (if white) and challenge any pawns placed in the middle by placing the corresponding one infront of it. develop the knights early to get ahead of the game. always make sure the bishop is active too. remember: sometimes its better to run than to take a peice. saving your pieces is an important strategy
