Tiebreaks are totally unfair. You can only beat the players you are paired against, and you can't help how those players do in other games.
They should either adopt the same format as the Champions League thus top 8 are through then 9-16 play 17-24 for other knockout places, or, given that there were 10 players tied on the same number of points, the top 6 on tie-breaks get a bye, the other 4 play-off for the last 2 places and then 3 knockout rounds.
Maybe one day DGT boards will be far better but I do wonder if they'd be better off now getting rid of regular chess pieces for faster chess and having them play the moves on touch-pads in front of them with instant transmission (ok maybe delay but not losing track). For classic time controls they can stick with DGT boards as the move turnover isn't near as fast. Not sure about rapid.
Quick draws spoilt the spectacle. The last few rounds are supposed to be exciting, watching the top players paired against each other. In the last round I was watching Prag vs Dubov as it was clear they both needed to play for a win whilst those on the higher boards were going to arrange quick draws.
