Does the womens side have an elimination bracket after 11 rounds or are the elimination matches just for the open section?
I'm hoping both Grischuk & his wife Lagno do well enough to bring home 4 prize checks for these events. They both already earned 2 checks for the rapid event.
He's currently in 18th after 5 rounds while she's 1st after 4 rounds in her event.

Magnus should win if he is on his game.He is pure genius,far and above what his ranking shows.

I notice Hans is in 4th place after 9 rounds. Hikaru is at #24 with 6 out of 9. For Hikaru to have a shot at top 8 he'll likely need to score 3.5 out of these last 4 games.
Dubov just forfeited against Hans in round 10!! wtfugggggggg? Is there an attitude issue between them?
I am utterly disgusted with the incompetence of FIDE's IT handling of these tournaments! Poor live coverage and updates on the games in progress: chess is becoming a spectator sport...how would the Super Bowl deal with these problems?!! FIDE has been irrelevant since the days of Kasparov-Karpov WC matches, and we must put them aside to international chess, just like the IOC.
Worst format of all time. I am really upset. It was so obvious. The old format was really good - many exciting games and the best player would win. Now we got a lottery for the knock out stage and these matches which make comebacks very hard. Imagine Vaishali losing her minimatch, than all the victories before are simply nullified.

wait 10 people tied for first so who gets to advanced? I hope they don't do it by rating because then it would be unfair
