Even though I have a very busy day tomorrow I'll just make sure my fone is charged so I can listen to the commentary as it progresses. Everybody knows all eyes are on Magnus to show up just so they can discuss his pants. Hahahaha, this is really funny stuff. That'll be the main part of any articles on the event.
It's Carlsen who caved in . His dad has told him to play! But Magnus is trying to stitch up the arbiter who was only doing his job.

Also, Carlsen did not really go after the arbiter, he went after the CEO, who was trying to flex and lost.
Look at the photo. That's the CEO of FIDE posting a promotional photo for the tournament in question. That shirt could pass for denim easily. Hypocrisy is not a good look for FIDE.
Now read his Linked In page. He's basically a GM who worked for and eventually led ACP (a company that no longer exists because it went bankrupt shortly following his tenure there). He has no business running a company.
Fabs is a better classical player, not as good in blitz. I can't see him winning 1st but with a good tournament I can see him finish in the top 10.

It’s great to see Carlsen decided to come back and play. I also think it was a good move by FIDE to be flexible with a rule that didn’t really make much sense. Honestly, in my opinion, Carlsen didn’t have much of a shot at winning the Rapid portion, and maybe his frustration with his own performance gave him a reason to step away like this. The blitz portion should be exciting!
I was rooting for Carlson then the jeans thing, hard to pick a clear favorite
