2 knights and a king vs a king

It says that 2 knights vs a king ending is not a possible checkmate but at the same time it says if you run out of time you lose the game cuz 2 knights and a king can possibly end in a draw how is this possible both ways  I drew a game because I had 2 knights vs a lone king.

Its possible but isn't able to be forced except in very specific situations.

Whos to say that it cant happen, it should be played out regardless. Just a very bad rule.

Because unless your opponent is am absolute brain dead person it won't happen.

You're 900. No one will do that at your level. 100? Ok, rarely but no ones that incompetent at 900

rating has nothing to do with it I also have a 7 year old account have have beaten 1900s, why is rating important to you to base an argument off of? has nothing to do with the situation at hand, point was, it can be done. it shoudlnt be a draw.

another reason the rule is dumb is that if the opponent has an extra knight or bishop the game still continues, if you cant win with 2 knights it should be a forced draw at that point then. That's how insane the rule is.
