Got the chance to play the greatest knight fork possible in chess. Ok it is a blunder, but so what. Move 25

White was clearly winning until f4. Wow was that a bad move.

Great combo of moves

It's instructive in the sense that Decoying and Diverting are almost always found together.

White's 25th move (25. Bxe5) decoys the Black Queen to a square where it will get ambushed, and also diverts it away from the protection of the f7 square.

Similarly, White's 26th move (26. Qxd8+) decoys the Black King to a square where it will get ambushed, and diverts it away from the protection of f7.

Then the 27th move (27. Nxf7+) cashes in on the two previous decoying/diverting themes.

My personal favorite !

Again, in your example Decoying and Diverting are combined in the same move.

7. ... Bc5 decoys White's Queen to a vulnerable square, and also diverts it away from the guard of the d3 square. The two themes are almost always found together.

Yep ... the game allows for either of the two Knights to deliver a Royal Fork !
