I'm going to try to take @ArtOfArcane's idea and try to do that
I think it's that
Shortest possible mates with each piece from the opening position
Queen:
Rook:
Bishop:
Knight:
Pawn:
(At least I think it's this)
Sorry if this takes up a lot of space!
What about the king? Obviously it would have to be a discovery. And I know the king would not be the checkmating piece but it would be the piece that moves on the checkmating move.
That would be very interesting.
you cannot mate with king unless you castle (im pretty sure)
so maybe opening a file and then castling
That's true. I guess castling doesn't count as a discovered check. But it is a shared move between the king and rook.
What I mean is something like in the accompanying analysis diagram. What's the quickest checkmate with the king moving for a discovered checkmate?
I'm not talking about discovered mates.
I understand. I was just curious, but not that curious.
In 2) 43... h5+! is better.
And 42. Rxg7, with the dual threats of 43. Rxh7# and 43. Bf3#, mating next move.
Haha this game is awesome.. that queen sac is epic. Pretty impressive if he saw that mate so far in advance
This looks strikingly similar to Bobby Fischer's checkmate in the Game of the Century,
About the Fischer game, the White king is swimming in deep water without any help.
About the Checkmator 11111 game, the king is surrounded by own pieces.
Take a closer look at the mating pattern.
Note in both positions is the king bishop redundant.
I know what you mean.In both mating combinations are a rook and 3 minor pieces working together as a killing team. But the mating patterns are very different.
You can be proud the game against Provex is a nice one!
I love this checkmate. Didn’t even have a plan to checkmate them before the endgame. I think his might just be my first ever checkmate that didn’t happen in the endgame.
edit: realized if it wasn’t a checkmate, the rook could have did it’s thing and swallowed my other rook. Nice.

Congratulations on your first middle game checkmate! Yes, it's a nice checkmate, but if you didn't have checkmate you were still up four minor pieces and three pawns. A rook trade (followed by a queen trade if black chooses) only stalls the inevitable.
