Given your rating 3 years later I'd assume you were just underrated . by alot...
Beating the chess.com bots rated a lot higher than me(~1250)
I just beat Isabel, who's elo is abut 500 higher than mine. She made a rook and knight blunder in the endgame
I think the bots are overrated. I can beat bots that are like 250 elo higher than me. They will play pretty elo appropriately most of the game then they will just throw the match out of the blue.
Beating Chess.com bots rated much higher than you (around 1250) can be an exciting achievement! Here are a few strategies that might have helped you win:
Focus on the Opening: Ensure you're familiar with key opening principles—control the center, develop pieces, and maintain a solid pawn structure.
Tactics and Calculation: Bots often rely on tactical patterns. Improve your ability to spot forks, pins, skewers, and other tactical motifs.
Positional Play: Beyond tactics, work on improving your pawn structure, piece activity, and creating weaknesses in the opponent’s position.
Endgame Knowledge: Knowing how to convert an advantage in endgames, like king and pawn vs. king, can give you the edge when the game narrows down.
Play at Your Own Pace: Bots tend to play quickly, but taking time to think through your moves can help you find mistakes or inaccuracies in their play.
Bots need not to be "overrated", players here could be "underrated", blitz average is in the 600s, so it is likely that someone with 600 can beat a 1000+ bot, the bot rating is machine oriented on absolute skills, the chess.com relative rating is specific to the player pool
Ps You need to play 50:50 in a couple of games to play like a bot strength, not just win one time
ok sorry.
