How was my last game a draw?

Sort:

Hey All, noob here. Can anyone look at my last game and tell me how it was a draw? Opponent had 5s left and draw pops up on screen. It says repitition

My last moves were Knight d5, knight e3, knight g2, knight e3

Any help as to how this is repitipn would be appreciated. If so, what are the rules on repetition?

Triple repetition of position. The same position was on the board after white moves 40, 42, and 44.

I don't understand? I there isn't a repeatable pattern in my moves, so how can it be repetition?

Tameem_01

It is three times the same position

On moves 40 42 and 44 you were in the same position.

Yes you are right about that you say, it is little confusing at start...

You try not make repetition with the moves: Kg4, Kf4, Kg5, Kf4, Kg4, Kf4, so not you have 3 consecutive king moves.

But is not the moves who count but the position!

So with Kg4, Kf4, Kg5, Kf4, Kg4, Kf4 exist the same position, no matter if it is consecutive or not:

Ps: Sorry you are black, now see that. But the rest is the same...

It was very bizarre that black just moved the knight back.and forth for no reason. It was as if black was trying to make a draw on purpose instead of trying to win.
