how to comment on one's own games

Sort:
emilio89

I would like to start reviewing my own games by commenting on them move by move, so that my comments are saved and appear in the comment box if I go through the game again. I know this is possible in comments and posts, so I could just comment on my own game with an annotation. But is it possible to avoid doing this? After all, what I'm after is what happens when you click on "computer analysis", I just want my comments instead (or in addition to) the computer's. Thanks for anyone's help!

go to the "notes" tab in online games

If you make "Notes", they will not be deleted if you also employ "Computer Analysis".

"Notes" in addition to "Computer Analysis".

Thanks guys! I'm afraid I can't find the note tab :/ is it somewhere in the page where you review your game, or is it used to take notes during the game? As LongIslandMark pointed out I'm more interested in the former. I also know how to download and edit PGNs, but I would like to have a way to save the edited PGN back on chess.com so I can have all my games in one place for easy access.

Right, so it's only while you play, or can you access it after the game is over? I can't see a correstponding notes tab in the post game analysis..

p.s. Are you accessing the site from a proper PC? I've never used a mobile device, but I believe there is reduced functionality.

I can't find my notes tab! Do I have to change the settings or something? Thanks again for your help

See post #9.

Okay, I see what's going on.

Notes are only available for Online Chess, not Live Chess.

Yeah I'm using a mac. I tried with another browser and it's the same. I guess I'll just fiddle with the settings a bit. Was the screenshot you posted from a live chess game? (I don't play online correspendence chess)

Ahhh that explains it :( thanks anyway
