Yup that is a Question, or then again is it The Question ?

DrSpudnik

No, it isn't.

Well I'm waddling along here in my usual 850 to 900 range however my doppelganger and I have piled up over 3 million chips on my Poker site, so it might be a question  lol.

Poker players look like they are playing chess.

Chess players look like they are playing poker.

Why is it so, that is the question!

DrSpudnik

I think that really good chess players are good at poker. I have no idea (though I could guess) about the results of terrible players.

DrSpudnik

I find no joy in losing money.

---   I guess that I should clarify things a bit here. The poker-site that I play at gives regular visitors free chips each day and of course one can win even more chips by playing. However there is no actual money involved as this is just for fun. That is to say it like playing Chess on-line because no matter what level you are at it has no effect on things out in the real world.

that's not what many on this site think.

This is like those poker/chess threads by that jion-wansu guy...only not as irritating.

It possible to enjoy both. Poker is so much fun to play and study. Chess is too. The goal of winning a championship bracelet in Poker is a great thing to be motivated for. It takes tons of Skill too. I recommend only playing in tournaments rather than cash games. When I first start playing and studying poker it was hard to understand just how complex the game was.

Playing with winning a bracelet as your goal is how you should approach the game. For the first 6 months you just want to practice on improving and enjoying the game. Only play for a living if you believe in your heart that you can make a living out of it. It’s just as fun as chess, but we all have our preferences. I’m addicted to studying chess at the moment but I need to get more volume in poker. Also some who play chess may have doubts that they can be a chess Champion, especially those who may have started at a later age, the good thing is that with Hard Work and practice I would say you could win a Bracelet in 6 months after just starting game. But you have to have a love for it and play a lot of hands. But typically it could take a year and a half to be in a position to win a Bracelet.

One more thing to do when your serious about poker is Tithe 10 percent of your income to those who help you spiritually. It will protect you financially because of the Promises made in the Bible.

wait a minute. if you win a poker tournament you receive a bracelet?

Ecclesiasticus

The bigger live Poker Tournaments have beautiful gold bracelets worth thousands of dollars. It’s better than a trophy. It’s kinda like a Championship belt. But you also could win millions of dollars that come along with that Bracelet. Google the WSOP championship bracelet. It’s so beautiful.

my post was that i, personally, do not give a sh*t. i just think that recognition among their peers would mean more than any bracelet. Your post seems to not fit our Community Guidelines. All the subtlety and charm of Robocop's anti-smoking campaign.

I remember the naked woman behind the newsstand counter. She was ignored by the man buying cigarettes or a paper or whatnot.

Thanks for the posts.

Times changed, until they came full circle and now we can't even say a$s on a chess site.
