A Trap in the Ponziani Opening
by AMagirlcom
The Ponziani Opening Starts after the moves
1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. c3
After 3...Nf6 4.d4 Nxe4, this is the Jaenisch Counterattack. The next moves are 5. d5 Ne7 6. Nxe5
This is where the trap comes in. If black plays 6...d6, trying to kick the knight, which is a reasonable move, white will play 7. Bb5+ c6 8. dxc6, and it looks like white blundered their knight.
But if black takes the knight with 8...dxe5, white has the discovered check of 9. cxb7+ and after the bishop blocks with 9...Bd7, white temporarily loses their queen with 10. Qxd7+!
After 10...Qxd7 11. bxa8=Q, black is forced to give up their knight and queen with 11...Nc8 12. Qxc8 Ke7 13. Qxd7+, with checkmate soon to come.
I have an idea. You guys will be able to write one page (5-7 paragraphs or less) and I will put them into a Google doc. Once I got everything I need, I will print a physical copy of the manual at a local post office. Cool I guess.
RULES because this will be hell without it.
Alright, start writing or whatever.
