You're joking but my friends dog put his head on my hand, which was on my lap to get some petsies, and I accidentally lost my rook in an endgame because of it.

I wore a red nose during the game. But with the big dance room mirror in the background I was more distracted by my own image than my opponent. When I sadly resigned, the image laughed at me. That hurt more than anything 
True story. I once lost by executing a smothered mate combination refuted by my opponent capturing my queen with his knight (Nf3xg1) rather than his rook. From that day onward I warn everyone about that!
