Beause chess is an extremely intriguing game. Nothing better to relax, it clears my mind and cleans it of daily stress.

Anyways,
I love Chess because it can be very challenging and testing - also because of the nice combinations by all of the pieces and when you play it good, it brings a lot of happiness - that is why I am trying to for a GM title even if I started a bit late (I am 10 years and 7 months old)

I found chess as a teen with about eight friends.
Got books at the library and chess was in a box of 40 games.
We only had a black and red plastic set that fell over . . .
Out of the 8 only three stuck with chess that summer.
My first real set I bought at the White House on closing sale $20:00.
Played during lunch at Lowell High in San Francisco on Hayes street.
Met George Koltonowki blindfold champion, joined his club.
Played at San Quentin prison one match.
Learned to play blindfold chess with descriptive notation.
Taught my four sons to play chess and three grandchildren.
Taught at grammar schools and one high school.
Taught 100s at LIBRARY, ran city tournament many times.
I have 26 club sets with as many clocks & a demo board.
In January I will assist at the library again for teens. . .
That's why I love chess . . .
My 2 1/2 year old grandson moves his knights. .
