What's your chess.com rating and what's the highest rated bot you've beaten?
I'm chess.com Rapid 1994, Bullet 2084 and Blitz 1811. I rarely play against bots but I beat Francis, rated 2300, about 6 months ago when I was Rapid 1800-ish, on holiday (no internet connection!)
Bots are not rated. They hold some sort of Elo evaluation, but that's no rating at all.
100% agreed. Well said
I'm 1950 rapid a have beaten Luk.AI with a rating of 2500
https://www.chess.com/game/computer/96793319as well as Wei with a rating of 2450.
I think that almost all bots are heavily overrated.
bot ratings are inflated
I've just finally made it past ELO 800 (that took a while ), and what I am happy about today. Nelson (1300) is the highest bot I tried and won three times against.
My rating is (roughly) 400-500 in just rapid. I have beaten all bots up to 850 in non-premium except Coach Mae. I'm currently working on the 900's.
I just beat NORA 2200 today!
Here are my stats.
Blitz
1446
Puzzles
2311
Rapid
1141
Bullet
1237
Daily
942
Puzzle Rush
26
Daily 960
1112
I'm 400, I've beat discord-nelly bot (1700) rating with a few step back moves and I've beat Clyde bot (1100) without any help or stepping back. I once beat the Magnus bot (2882) with a step back because of the scholar's mate but idk if it actually counts. I think I have made a draw against mittens once with a lot of stepping back but I'm not sure if my memory is right
It would be nice if they included a "bot rating" for players (like the separate ratings for bullet, blitz, rapid, etc). Even better if the bots had something similar, where the bots rating value adjusted based upon its performance. The current "3-crowns" setting would be considered a "rated game", or at least the only option under which "bot-rated game" would become available.
I think something like that would be a great way to determine how far off the assigned values for the bots are, and it might provide some insights as to how they set up the bots with regards to trying to target particular playing strengths.
My rating reached 958 after about a year of steady progress, and I have been on a break from chess for a few months because of a variety of distractions. Now I am back at it. I only play Daily games (1 day) because my brain works a bit too slow for Rapid or Blitz games. I just turned 80yo and believe me, when you become elderly, your brain chugs along very slowly. I imagine that readers have noticed how slowly us elderly folks move. Well, the brain also slows down. That said, the Daily format works great for my demographic. I especially enjoy being able to play and chat with players from around the world.
