The easiest way to stop it is to play the French Defense (1. e4 e6). This move instantly makes the scholar's mate impossible, as it blocks the light bishop's path.

Playing the Sicilian Defense (1. e4 c6), followed by e6 after 2. Qh5, is also a viable option; Scholar's Mate is once again thwarted, and the c-pawn is protected.

1. e4 c3 (Caro-Kann) followed by 2. Qh5 is the same idea, except you should play Nf6 to threaten the queen. After the queen moves, the next move you should do depends on where the Queen moved. If the pawn is protected, play e5; if it's not protected, take it (except in the case of Qh4; then, play d5). If white brings the bishop in first...well, you know what to do. e6.

Hopefully this will break the monotony you'll experience until you get to around my level and above, or at least get you some very simple wins.
