Is anybody else scared of playing because if they lose then their ELO will drop? I'm on a 4 game winning streak and am scared to lose it lol

Yes, but I'm slowly overcoming it. Gotta play chess if you wanna get good ;DDD
Congratulations on the draw in your last game, by the way

Most common mistake I see here is players that live 24/7 in rating climb mode. It's not really possible to play at 100% every game unless you rarely play. I recommend having another time control, lichess account, or a second chess.com account (https://support.chess.com/en/articles/8568381-can-i-have-multiple-accounts) where you aren't trying to maximize your rating. This both lets you have more fun and experiment with ideas, and makes the games where you are rated easier mentally to put 100% effort into. Or just have set times where you are rating climbing (one game a day, full focus, studying and reviewing every game), then once you reach your target, play more casually until you feel improved enough to attempt an even higher rating climb. Don't have every game be a rating climb or you'll get worse results and probably burnt out.

too ---goose chess ---you advice was very sound and that advice about very game a rating hike then turning sour and you lose more than gain was right on ---- i play at the basement -- i always play two game wins then three game losses till iam back at 100 each time never do i get out of basement more one day -- your management style is very sound i believe---- i wish i had the willpower to implement it ------ great post
