I'm trying to do different openings

After seeing that a lot of my games seem to be the same (with unfavorable results) I've decided to try and be different.

My most recent game as of this writing didn't really go so well with that, albeit only because I was moving too quickly and didn't see my opponent having a pretty good response to an attack I was doing, which put me at a major disadvantage.

Fortunately, with the pieces I had left I was able to sneak in a good counterattack, winning a bishop, and made a pretty strong defense. I was definitely still losing, but not completely falling apart. Even more fortunately, my opponent messed up trying to break through, blundering his knight and allowing me to put his queen under attack. Then he moved his queen away...into the path of my bishop. In just two moves, the evaluation went from -6 to +4.5 💀

I'll take the win, I guess. Experimenting has certainly had mixed results so far lol

Right then, so your openings have little to do with your success or failure here and tactics are dictating the outcome of your games. Seems to me you’d be better off slaying puzzles and following Opening principles for now to achieve more successful results.
