I keep losing and I'm rapidly losing motivation.

I have been stuck below 200 elo forever and always keep losing. I'm about to quit and never play chess again. How do I gain motivation?

Go watch videos about Chess Basics. I am sure you can do it.

I was stuck at 800 for 1 YEAR. Until 1 day everything changed

I didn't even LEARN or anything. I just played.

At lower level, it is even FASTER, and plus learning you will break 300 in no time.

Summary:

Basics + Opening Theory = CRUSH your opponents

It’s challenging when things feel like they’re spiraling, but remember that setbacks are a part of the journey. Take small steps, celebrate even the smallest victories, and give yourself grace. Sometimes, it’s okay to pause and reset.

This may be connected to the fact that you play games like this:

Instead of banging out random moves, try to use your time and think. Try to find good moves.

What if I have no victories?

You need to think about Chess differently!

You need to change your Mindset!

Winning & Losing - Isn’t what you want to focus on!

Some People win tons of games, but never get better.

A Win or A Loss is Short Term!

You need to think about Long Term!

If you win or even lose and learn nothing, your rating long term will never go up!

If you win or lose and learn why you lost or learned how to improve, your rating long term will be successful.

Don't worry about your elo and watch some youtube videos

First, work on end games (configure board differently and play against top-level engine, taking hints when you're stuck). For openings learn just some basic principles and follow them, do not bother about specific openings.

And stop playing rapid, blitz, etc, fast games are waste of time at your stage. Also don't bother with online pvp chess. It's too chaotic at your level not to mention other issues + online pvp is mainly speed chess and you need to avoid that.

use youtube for end gamehappy

Many people recommend to learn endgames first. However, I disagree with them. In my opinion, you should first learn how to not blunder pieces in one move. Because if you blunder pieces in the middlegame, you don't even get to the endgame and these endgame knowledge are just useless in that case. And when you stopped blundering pieces in one move, then you can go further, and learn some more basic stuff, like one-move-tactics, and endgames probably as well. Additionally, I would like to recommend you, as a beginner, one chess YT channel that helped me in my time with my chess, to understand chess more deeply. This channel name is Chess Vibes, a very useful channel for beginners, as well as for intermediates like me

I'd argue that in the endgame tactics and blunders are more visible, but when the board is full of pieces, novice often feels lost.

Few more tips:

- Obtain a full-sized chess set with 3.75 inch king and a chessboard with at least 2" squares. And use it when playing against yourself and against engines (copy engine moves onto the board, copy your moves into the program). Real tangible and visible in real "3D" board triggers more neurons basically and you'll learn faster.

- Write down every move (learn the notation).

- Start playing invisible chess asap. This is essential in the beginning stages of learning chess. Often overlooked. Watch from 6:40 if you think this is something impossible (see fun checkmate on 20:50). Of course you don't have to play against 3 players at once, you can just try "blindfold" chess set here on chess.com. With available move list it's super easy.

I analyzed you previous games and saw these things you should change.

1. Before making a move, see if it’s a blunder. See if your pieces or king can be checkmated

2. Castle

3. Develop pieces more

4. Don’t resign
