For those of us who use a chess engine to study endgames and make sure our skills are decent, I want to try to compile a list of minimum scenarios that one should be able to beat any engine if they play the endgame right. Please submit what the minimum possible pieces are to force a win.
The rules: All pieces start in their starting positions... that's it.
So for example:
KP4 v KN (i think this is the minimum)
KBP2 v KN
KP2 v KP (all passed)
KP (plus even number of squares between Kings) v K
That's the idea. It's even better if both sides have pawns as that is usually more realistic. I'm sure there are people out there who understand Endgames, and if you do please add more/correct the ones above.
