The g-pawn made all the difference.

His blunder is allowing the forced rook exchange at e3 and the Black King gain the Opposition..As long as White maintain the rook, it's a draw by checking the Black King when it approach the g4 pawn.

Improving endgame skill will improve your chess in general.

I enjoy teaching end games basics to beginners..Its one of the first things they should learn, what it means to win a game. then build on that, setting up tactics and strategies to get to the end game, playing the middle game to execute the tactics and strategies to set up the end game, and finally learn openings to create a middle game.

But those are just my thoughts and ramblings over my morning cup of Starbucks before class

Love engames! It's the Jujitsu of chess...

Eventually the game will go to the ground (i.e. the endgame!)

I can lose the endgame as long as there was a fight before that point and I lost because I made an error.

Fighting an already lost position is never fun, not in the endgame and not in the middle game.

I like endgames hehe... If I'm winning (or if I'm drawing from a disadvantage) /j. Endgames are very common in my games. Can't help but like them.
